However, ignoring the detrimental effects of unhealthy food on our society is what is causing the obesity trend. For these companies helping the general population is just a meaningless waste of money. Others who oppose the required policy changes to combat obesity are certain writers and politicians. While they try to argue many things against food regulation one of their biggest concerns is that regulating food goes against our freedoms and will cost us more money. They believe that the downsides of government regulation outweighs the possible decrease of obesity.… Many consumers also believe that the government cannot infringe their personal right to consume any kind of food they want. This has lead to poor nutrition choices and has caused the obesity epidemic to arise in the first place. According to the authors, marketing is also partly to blame for this epidemic due to their failure to expose the many of the health risks in the food they are selling. With these different proposals and effects in mind, a junk food tax isn’t the most effective solution to combat obesity in America. While the tax might have some effect on the health epidemic, the authors clearly show there needs to be a greater sense of urgency in order to fully resolve the health crisis that is… They manipulate people into eating their food so they could get more money. The first effect of fast food is obesity. Many people are becoming overweight and not caring about what they eat. They love the taste of fast food yet they don’t know of the danger it leads to. Fast food is very unhealthy and can cause you to face obesity, “Since 1980, the number of obese children has more than doubled to 16 percent…” .… Fast food only creates problems for people and eating healthier can eliminate those problems. Fast food may seem cheap, but eating healthier can be cheap too if one studies up, looks for deals, and shops smart. Americans can break this fast food craze and jump on the healthy bandwagon. It’s much easier than they think, but eating fast food hinders that. Americans know the consequences of this food, they should not ever eat it and they should focus more on consuming healthier…
There are other alternatives besides eating fast food. Healthy food can be prepare in advance so the children can eat it at a later time and the parents will know how many calories their children is consuming. I disagree with the fact that people are suing the fast-food industry because it is making them fat and that there is no calorie information on their products. Most snack and junk foods have high levels of sugars and sodium which are both needed daily to function properly. But when a consumer overeats because the brain has been manipulated this isn’t fair. Although most companies C.E.O.s would argued that nobody is making the customers eat the unhealthy food , closer examination shows that the science used in creating this food makes consumers desire more.… Zinczenko believes that if this type of marketing strategy continues there will be “more sick, debate against fast food obese children and more angry, litigious parents” . On the contrary, Balko has a different theory on who to blame and why. Balko suggests that “the best way to alleviate the obesity “public Health” crisis is to remove obesity from the realm of public health” . Balko continues by suggesting that personal health remains private and should be less of a public matter because it is not of the public’s concern with what one decides to put in his or her body . Balko further justifies these statements by saying that “If policymakers want to fight obesity, they’ll halt the creeping socialization of medicine, and move to return individual Americans’ ownership of their own health and well-being back to individual Americans” .… People may argue that fast food contributes to obesity but they cannot deny that they have every right to do exercises, eat nutritious food in order to stay healthy. Fast food establishments are not the only reason why people become overweight, they do not deserve all that hatred and criticism. Research has clearly pointed out that people are the main causes of the obesity epidemic as they are suffering from their own terrible decisions. Even though this essay is only limited to the U.S, it can partly show the effects of fast food on human, the impact people’s choices have on their declining health. It is undeniable that fast food has a negative effect on human health but it is not logical at all to blame a single factor for such a social problem.… The reason why fast foods are called junk food is because eating fast food long term can cause cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity and many other health problems. All the problems that junk food cause are deadly; for example it could cause heart failure, and almost all of fast foods contain a chemical element call Acrylamide which will cause people to have cancer. Eating junk food is money saving, but all the money that one saves up by eating junk food can be all given to the doctor at the end. Although most of people understand that fast food is unhealthy but they still be glad to purchase it, but it is not worth it to risk our life on something that we know it’s not… 1). To solve the problem of unhealthy eating and people becoming obese from it, there needs to be a solution, such as Corporations making the food healthier and more nutritious, or stopping the business overall. The workers and managers know how unhealthy the food is for their customers, yet they still continue to serve them. Obviously, they are making money and that is the reason being, but long-term, the company’s food will cause health problems for those customers all over the world.
